Club DLC
Club DLC was established to encourage boys in grades 4, 5A, 5B and 6 to daven like a chossid—saying every word carefully, with concentration and enthusiasm.

Each week no more than two boys will have the privilege to daven one time that week in a separate room along with a recording of the Rebbe’s actual davening. After davening each student will receive a delicious hot cup of cocoa. Members also receive other priviliges such as occasional flag football games. At the completion of the contest, a raffle for a set of seforim will be held for all Club DLC members.

Every Friday the students write a report ("du'ch") to the Rebbe.

Two generations come together for an evening of learning.
Father Son Melave Malka
A large turnout of men and boys filled the lunchroom for the annual Father-Son Melave Malka. Serious learning, refreshments, an address by Rabbi Benjy Korf and a game that the fathers enjoyed as much as the sons combined to make a terrific evening for everyone.

Rabbi Pinny Andrusier Speaks of His Travel to the Gravesites of the Rebbeim
Group of Chabad Rabbis Visits Historical Towns in Ukraine
Rabbi Pinny Andrusier
It was truly an eye-opening presentation, when Rabbi Pinny Andrusier, Shliach of Chabad of Cooper City, described his recent visit to the gravesites of the Chabad rebbeim in the former Soviet Union. A slide show presentation gave real life meaning to the special stories he told of his travels. Even more impressive was how the group prepared themselves spiritually for their visit to the holy sites, and the personal commitments they made while there. Rabbi Andrusier addressed the elementary school boys in honor of Chof Cheshvan, the birthday of the Rebbe Rashab.

Club DLC Welcomes Growing Membership
Club DLC 5769
Last year it was a great success, and this year it is proving to be even more so. So, what is the excitement all about? Club DLC--"Daven Like a Chossid." Boys who daven properly--looking in their siddur, saying every word carefully, with concentration and enthusiasm--will be eligible to daven in a special room with a recording of the Rebbe's davening. As a special morning perk, each student receives a hot cup of cocoa before going off to class. Much thanks to the Pinhas family for sponsoring the program's first week. Click icon for pictures.
"Body Adventure" Stars Elementary Grades
Annual performance promotes the importance of good health
General Studies Performance 2009
This year's annual general studies performance brought out all the "doctors" and "health care workers" in our elementary school. In a production entitled "Body Adventure," each class used song, dance and rhyme to promote good health and proper care of one's body.
Yud Shevat 5769 at Lubavitch Elementary School
Students joined chassidim around the world to honor the day when the Rebbe became Rebbe.
Yud Shevat 5769 at LEC
The day started with boys in grades 4-6 davening with a recording of the Rebbe from Yud Shevat. The assembly then sang the "Ma'amor Nigun," and boys who had prepared the famous chassidic discourse "Basi L'gani," took turns reciting portions of it. A special address by shliach Rabbi Yitzy Hecht of Kingston, NY, who spoke movingly of growing up in Crown Heights with the Rebbe, was followed by a Chinese auction for the winners of the Tzivos Hashem competition and class farbrengens. The highlight was a world-wide telephone hook-up with 10,000 children, at which 4th graders Mendel Mann recited one of the 12 pesukim and the gifted Yisroel Amar sang "Yehi Ratzon."

Basketball Star Tamir Goodman's Commitment to Shabbos is a Slam Dunk
Game attendees shout "Shabbos Rocks" when Goodman refuses to be interviewed with a microphone on Shabbos.
Tamir Goodman Visits LEC
"Always feel pride and confidence in displaying your Judaism,” said Tamir Goodman as he spoke at a special assembly to the Elementary School boys. Goodman, who gained national recognition and the nickname the “Jewish Jordan” while starring at Baltimore’s Talmudic Academy, says his message goes beyond basketball. He believes he was blessed with his skills on the court to better the world. One way of doing that was his steadfast commitment to keeping Shabbos—no matter what—and always playing with his yarmulka clipped to his head. Not only were his words inspiring, but he generously agreed to pose with all the classes and sign autographs before leaving.
Lag B'Omer Street Dedication and Program
The Julia Cohen Boulevard offers beautiful welcome to LEC.
Lag B'Omer Street Dedication and Program
Hundreds gathered at LEC on Lag B’Omer to formally dedicate the street in front of the school building. Now named the Julia Cohen Boulevard, it honors the memory of the mother of one of the school’s prominent benefactors, Mr. Sonny Kahn. Rabbis Abraham and Benjy Korf and Mr. Russel Galbut, offered words of praise and gratitude to the Kahns. The dedication was followed by a program on LEC’s sports field, joined by the students from the Hebrew Academy of Margate. Entertainment by acrobats, the LEC boys choir, raffles, and reciting the 12 pesukim ensured that everyone had a great time. At the finale hundreds of colorful balloons were released into the air, and everyone enjoyed a BBQ lunch.
