Preparing Young Men to Enter the World

Klurman Mesivta High School was established to offer a dual curriculum program for boys in grades 7 to 11.  After serving the local community for many years, Klurman Mesivta will begin welcoming out-of-town applicants for the 2008-09 academic year.

Diligence, commitment and consistency in Torah study is a goal of Klurman Mesivta.  The rigorous curriculum requires a high level of interest, self-discipline and motivation.  Extended class hours, as well as a willingness to spend time outside of the classroom in text analysis and preparation, require the student to be focused and diligent.  The primary subject is Gemorah, which is studied in the traditional manner on two levels, with Tosfos and Meforshim.  Added to the weekly curriculum is Chumash, Halacha (Jewish laws), Mishna, Novi (Prophets), Tanya (fundamental text of Chabad-Chassidic philosophy), Sichos and Ma'amorim (esoteric writings) and Jewish history.  The learning program is enhanced by regularly scheduled farbrengens, periodic Shabbatons and guest lectures.

An experienced, devoted and personable staff, under the directorship of Rabbi Yosef Zavdi, brings the subject matter alive and inspires an appreciation for learning in the students.  The general studies program is headed by Mrs. Judy Kitchner.

Klurman Mesivata High School is located on the Miami Beach campus at 1140 Alton Road, together with the Yeshiva Gedolah of Greater Miami Rabbinical College.

An advanced program of traditional Torah learning, along with a fully staffed general studies program, prepares the student to enter formal yeshiva or pursue a career path upon graduation.
